KSHITIJ'-'Mathematics society of Deshbandhu College' celebrated it's annual day of its two-days annual festival "Samuchayam-2017".

'KSHITIJ'-'Mathematics society of Deshbandhu College' celebrated it's annual day. it's two-days annual festival "Samuchayam-2017". The first day of the event took place in multipurpose room on 7th February 2017 which continued for eight hours.The event was open to all staff and students of the colleges of Delhi University.

The event was inaugurated by the address of chief guest Dr. Santosh Kumar who is the director of NIDM (National Institute of Disaster Management). He addressed many issues related with disaster management and importance of preparedness during natural disasters.

The event was presided by 'KSHITIJ' -mathematics society of Deshbandhu College. The event was aimed to highlight creativity and innovative actions of the participants through various competition such as Rangoli making competition, treasure hunt, slogan-logo quiz, mini-militia (a smartphones game) and Sudoku.

The event not only brilliantly delivered a message of serious social issue which is often swept under the carpet, but also depicted the quantitative and qualitative analysis of risks all over. "Students must face challenges and make sure to learn from those experiences and challenges only then life would serve you better.Also working hard and that too continuously is the key to success” said Mr. Manoj Kumar while interview with DU-NEWS.

The society conducted the festival  in a smooth manner, giving out refreshments to all attendees. The society has a track record of winning several competitions both within and outside Delhi University and is considered one of the foremost mathematics societies in the University.  'KSHITIJ' organizes Samuchayam every year with a great enthusiasm.

Similarly the second day of the event (8th February 2017) consisted of many such competitions and students participated in large numbers. Online registrations were closed but offline registrations were open till morning 10  am for all the events so that students can avail the opportunity to take part and present their creative skills through various competition organized by the society. After the first day event, second day came up with many new competitions and activities such as general quiz, poster presentation, power point presentation, debate and DJ dance.

The event was aimed to being out creative and innovative actions of the participants through tough competition. Among all participants,SBSC participants secured first position in debate competition while participants from Deshbandhu College secured second position. In the poster making competition participants from Faculty of Arts secured first position and second position was secured by participants from Deshbandhu College. Moreover,participants from Deshbandhu College secured first position in power point presentation and participants from Ramanujan college secured second position.Winner got their certificates and prize money respectively.

The mathematics society of Deshbandhu College has a track record of winning several competitions both within and outside Delhi University and is considered one of the foremost mathematics societies in the University."Concerning about the environment, Mathematics society is planning to conduct  'tree plantation' within the college and also to conduct a 'National conference' regarding mathematics"told Aakash Gupta, vice president of mathematics society.

This is also a great way to spread knowledge and enlighten youth about the bitter truth of the society so that 'youth' of our Nation can think of better ideas to serve Our Nation better. “Students should be honest with themselves and continue to work hard, this is the only key to success"said Mr. Manoj Kumar, convener of mathematics society while interview with DU NEWS.
