First day of admission process turns tumultuous

From Tuesday onwards, students can submit the provisional marksheet, and submit the original marksheet within 10 days of their admission.

First day of Delhi university admissions were overtly chaotic as the students from state boards such as Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Haryana and Assam have not yet been issued class XII marksheet.

The varsity has decided to keep the original documents of students coming for admission process.

The situation was particularly terrible in SRCC where a majority of students seeking admissions were from TN.

However in the later part of the day advisory was issued to colleges asking them to admit students on provisional marksheet basis. The students will have to furnish the original marksheet within 10 days of admission.

Students had to face a dire situation due to this utter confusion. Some were even forced to cancel the return tickets. SRCC admission committee decided to admit students till evening to compensate for the grim scene.

While Hindu had halted the admission procedure by 1:30, SRCC was utterly cooperative.

It should be noted that such a move is taken to prevent students from taking admission into multiple colleges. The admissions will resume from Tuesday onwards.
